Let's start with the character
creation. The character creation is actually REALLY good. The graphical quality of the game is AMAZING
even in low. Also you can be any class, no matter what race you are. The character creation is extremely in depth.
It delves into iris size. It goes into a lot of really detailed things that
seem unimportant. It is really good all the customization in this game. It
helps make you feel that this character is YOU or YOURS. Then you go into
setting your characters story elements, which I really like. You feel like your
character has a backstory other then, “I wanted to play a Asura Guardian so
here it is.” And also that what you choose in the story part of character
creation actually shows up on your character (IE if I picked fire gem as an
elemetalist, I actually have that piece of gear) is genius. It makes you really
feel like that is your character. Also
that your character creation affects everything in your personal story? Genius.
Another great thing, that is sort of character creation, sort of Personal Story, is: Charm, Dignity, and Ferocity. I really love this system. When you talk to NPC's anywhere what you say increases one of these "stats" depending on what you pick. How high these stats are changes how people react to you, and what NPC's say. I really like this sytem.
Next is the UI.
The UI in this game is really clean, fresh, convenient, and easy to use. Lets
start with the map. The map is extremely detailed, and
looks great. It tells you exactly where events are, favors are, quests are,
vistas, waypoints and more. The waypoint system is also great. Pay some copper
to teleport to places on the map. While I would like a flight path, instant
teleports are fine. (Does this game have mounts? That would be cool.) Next is
the Hero tab. This is great because it has your gear, Skills, Story, Crafting,
Achives, and PvP in one place. One genius thing is the town clothes. Oh I will
LOVE RP'ing this game :) Next is the Contacts. I would like the ability to add
just characters to this. Seeing someones whole account is somewhat of a breach
of privacy. Other then that great real ID system. Next is mail. Good you can
use from everywhere, great and immersive that NPC's email you. One thing
greatly needed is for the mail to remeber who you mailed. When I need to mail
my friend and he is offline, it is a nightmare to attempt to remeber his
character names. Also mailing yourself on different characters isn’t important,
just use the bank.
Gem system... This I love. Only sells cosmetic and convience
items. You can also buy gems with ingame money. I will spend $ here to support
ArenaNet and get cool items. Mainly the convience. However one really important
thing is missing that I would spend lots of money on. More character slots. I
want to have a slot for each class. I want to buy them with gems. World Vs
World, obviously good. Shows progress in the world.
Games graphics are
obviously good. Even on low. One thing that NEEDS to be done before launch, is
to fix preformance. My friend has a laptop that can run most games really well,
but Guild Wars 2 wont run on low without slowness. My desktop is fine however.
PvE content, was a little confusing. I didnt know the diffrences between Favors, Dynamic Events, and Meta- Events, Once I learned it was so fun. One great thing is exploring
and finding vistas and favors and events and skill points, and being swept up
in it. I dont know how I end up in someplaces. I follow all the events. There
are alot, it is really fun. I do have a few problems with PvE, other then being confusing though.
One of my problems (which I mentioned in: http://pcgameinsider.blogspot.com/2012/08/opinion-guild-wars-2-bad.html ) is that the map seems too small. I guess this could be fixed with content patches, and expansions, but the world seems sort of small compared to Azeroth and other MMO worlds.
The Second of my PvE problems is that there are too few heart events to level up. They need to add about 1 or 2 more heart events to the zones. In the charr starting zone, I did all the heart events, vistas, skill challenges, and most Dynamic events, and I was too low level to go on to the next zone. I needed to either to WvWvW, Personal story, or mob grind. They need to add more events.
The third of my PvE problems is too few dungeons. I dont know why there are so few dungeons. Maybey Arenanet thinks players wont
finish the 8 or so dungeons before they add more? They should NOT underestimate
their players. DCUO put too little dungeons, and it failed for that. I hope they
add more dungeons. Solution: ADD MORE!
The fourth is the lack of Endgame. Huge massive problem. No Endgame. Unlike games like World of Warcraft, once you beat Guild Wars 2, there is nothing much to do. Sure you can roll alts, or do PvP, or Dynamic events, but there arent any PvE things like Raids or Dungeons. I want to see Raids, Arena's, and Dungeons added in as a sutiable Endgame for Guild Wars 2. So many players will quit after they reach level cap, which will happen quickly due to lower exp rates. There is simply nothing they have revealed that we can do. Hopefully Arenanet are hiding some raids, or something unanounced to do at the level cap, or will add some really soon. Solution: Add stuff to do at cap. This is a HUGE problem for me.

PvP is...... GREAT! I enjoy
both PvE and PvP in this game. It is a stroke of pure genius that you can
finish the tutorial zone, and immediatly be competitve. You instantly get good
weapons and armor, max level, all skills unlocked. I actually mattered and
turned the tide of some battles. (one thing I dont like is that you cant use out of PvP gear in PvP) PvP is great other then the lack of game modes, and dueling.
WvWvWvWvWvW is next. I love this. 3 servers fighting each other across a HUGE war, to dominate terretory? Awesome. When playing this and communicating with my server, and setting up a command chain, makes you feel more in a war, and more strategic then any game ive ever played. WvWvW is more strategic then any RTS so far. I am planning, if I cut through the river with my three friends, we can ambush the sentrys, and capture red keep. WvWvW for me has one of the greatest memory in my Gaming life so far. I didnt even get to do dungeons, or much underwater combat. So far I am enjoying this game. I have purchased it, and alot of my friends will aswell. I love this game, though it has quite a bit of problems, including lack of endgame.
If I were to score it, I would say 95/100
