Rebbelion sues Stardock for use of the word "Rebellion"

Stardock, creators of the Sins of a Solar Empire serise are being sued for the second time today. This time they are being sued by the company Rebellion, who are a UK developer. Rebellion made the 2010 Alien Vs Predator game. They are suing because they trademarked the word Rebellion, and Stardock used it in there latest Sins of A Solar Empire Expansion. The lawsuit claims that the people at Stardock knowingly profited of the rebbelion trademark.

Honestly I think this is stupid. This is going to be the next "scrolls" isnt it? The word Rebbelion is so common, that I cant belive that anyone can sue and trademark over it.
This is stup- <PCGameInsider got removed of internet due to a lawsuit by Rebellion for using the word Rebbelion in this news article.>

From commenter BenSmith:
How can you even get a trademark on such a common word?

Here are some other games whose developers they could sue:
Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion
Star Wars: Rebellion
Last Rebellion
Geneforge 4: Rebellion
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 Banjou no Geass Gekijou
Sub Rebellion
The Tone Rebellion
Knights & Merchants: The Peasants Rebellion
Boxer Rebellion
Space Rebellion
Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion
