Opinion: Guild Wars 2- The Bad

Guild Wars 2 has alot of problems. Yes if you did not realize already the article titled OPINION: is about the opinion of the current writer. In this case, I Xeon Gutierrez is writing this post. My opinion is that Guild Wars 2 has alot of problems. Yes, this is starting to look like my Top 1. Game of 2012, but it still has problems.

In no order whatsoever here is my 7 gripes with Guild Wars 2.

1. Too few heart events to get high enough level to go to another zone.

It possibly could only be the Charr starting zone (the Village of Smokestead) but I noticed there are far to few events to gain the level required to move on to the next zone. I leveled up a Warrior there recently (last stress test) did all the heart events and got to level 5. (Village of Smokestead is 1-6) (Next zone is like 7-11) I wasnt high enough level to really do anything in the next zone, yet I completed all the content in the Village. The solution to this problem is simple, add more heart events so you can gain more levels to move to another zone. This isnt much of a problem to me, but still there.

2. World seems a bit small

This may be skepticism but the world map seems far too small to actually get to level 80. This could be a lack of content in the beta, or just me analyzing the map wrong, but the map seems smaller then other MMORPG's. Now chances are the solution is either: it will be fine on release, or they will add more content and areas via expansions so the world is bigger. This isnt much of a problem to me, but still there.

3. No Dueling

This doesnt need explaining. A PvP MMORPG missing the ability to duel. Seriously Arenanet? No dueling in Guild Wars 2? Hopefully they add it soon after launch. Solution: Add after launch. This is sort of a big problem for me.

4. Too few dungeons

I dont know why there are so few dungeons. Maybey Arenanet thinks players wont finish the 10 or so dungeons before they add more? They should NOT underestimate their players. DCUO put too little dungeons, and it failed for that. I hope they add more PvE content. Solution: ADD MORE!
This is a big problem for me.

5. Lack of game modes (TDM, Capture Flag, Arena)

Again, Conquest mode alone is not enough for players. Having capture points with diffrent objectives wont be enough. They need Dueling, Capture the flag, maybey Arena's and Team Death Match. Point is they need more PvP modes. Just like with PvE endgame and dungeons, they need more PvP modes. Maybey this, "Raid on Capricorn" map that we saw during the press beta will appear for launch? Solution: Add more! This is a big problem for me.

6. Lack of Endgame

Huge massive problem. No Endgame. Unlike games like World of Warcraft, once you beat Guild Wars 2, there is nothing much to do. Sure you can roll alts, or do PvP, or Dynamic events, but there arent any PvE things like Raids or Dungeons. I want to see Raids, Arena's, and Dungeons added in as a sutiable Endgame for Guild Wars 2. So many players will quit after they reach level cap, which will happen quickly due to lower exp rates. There is simply nothing they have revealed that we can do. Hopefully Arenanet are hiding some raids, or something unanounced to do at the level cap, or will add some really soon. Solution: Add stuff to do at cap. This is a HUGE problem for me.

Well that has been my opinion on what is wrong with Guild Wars 2. Other then that I LOVE the game. Cant wait for the stress test tommorow, and the launch on the 25th (I will miss early on the 24th, and most of the 25th) As always if you have a diffrent opinion then me, feel free to argue it in the comments.
