SPOILERS AHEAD FOR MEATOBERFEST!!!
Time for another PlayZ. I am sorry for those of you who arent Guild Wars 2 fans, but this game is just chock-full of good memories. I said that PlayZ is a written playthrough of the most memorable and intresting game I expericend that week. Guild Wars 2 had the most memorable playhtrough this week. Lets Begin!
I logged in on my Charr Elementalist, level 26 at the time. (He is 30 at time of writing.) I decided to explore a bit of northern Diasse Plateau. I moved a bit then I noticed a meta (Read: Storyline Focused Dynamic event chain) event. Help around the festival: Meatoberfest. Ooh a festival, I thought. I headed to the current story event going on, which was to collect wurm eggs to make food for the festival. The actual festival was awesome because its theme is a mix between Charr, and Norn, since their zones are next to each other.
Anyway, back to the events, I collected Wurm eggs and a new event started to bring the eggs back to a small town. (Escort) We were almost done with that event, when a veteran ice wurm spawned. It was a new event! The chef said that it has high quality eggs, so we went and killed it for its eggs. We had to kill it before it was time to go back and cook. Thankfully we succeeded (Barely) in killing it. It was basicly a max level dungeon boss in a normal MMORPG.
We cooked the eggs, but we had to defend the pack bull who had supplys from the dredge. That event needs alot of work, because the enemy's spawned way to slowly, and only one at a time, so it was SO easy, with so many players. I dont think it was scaling properly. Needless to say we beat it. Then we went to the town that the festival would actually be in, and defend the firework launchers from the Sepratists. We also prodded cattle. Once we did those the festival was on.
Fireworks were being launched, people (NPC's) were celebrating, special vendors for the festival were available. There were some problems however. One NPC was so drunk, that there was a dynamic event to defeat him in combat to calm him down. There was also a renown heart to serve food and drink to partygoers.
Overall this metaevent was really fun, and had a good storyline, and was a nice break from the norm. I also got ALOT of karma, XP, and money from the events.
